WHOLE PORK INFORMATION

Price is based on the hot carcass weight referred to as hang weight.  Pork hang weight we see come through is an average of 200lbs.  No two pigs are the same and weights vary.  We have received Pork as low as 100lbs and up to 400lbs. We won’t know your hang weight until your pork is harvested and we bring it back to our shop.

Example of cost:  you select the The Lumber Jack Special and your Pork comes in at 200lbs hang weight, your total cost is $900.

Finished take home weight is not the same as the hang weight, rather about 70% of hang weight (loss of bone, trim, excess fat and moisture).  This is often confusing, here is a good link to help bring more clarity: https://livestock.extension.wisc.edu/articles/how-much-meat-should-a-hog-yield/

  3. Delivery of wholesale animals possible upon request only, additional charges will apply. 
  4. Any animal not picked up within 30 days from notice of ready for pick up becomes property of The Corner Butcher Shop.
